Returns & Refunds Policy
We want you to be completely happy with every order from Teknik Barkod. This policy explains your rights to cancel or return an order, and how refunds work, in line with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Your right to cancel (14-day cooling-off period)
If you're a consumer (buying for personal use, rather than as a business), you have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days, starting the day after you receive your goods, without giving a reason.
To cancel, simply email us at contact@teknikbarkod.co.uk with your order number and let us know you'd like to cancel. You don't need to use a specific form — a clear message is enough.
Once you've told us you want to cancel, you'll need to return the goods to us within 14 days. You're responsible for the cost of returning the item, unless it's faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered (see below).
Please note: custom-printed ribbons, labels and packaging made to your specification are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under Regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, as these are personalised goods made specifically for you. We're still happy to discuss any issues with a custom order — just get in touch.
Returning an item
To return a standard (non-custom) item:

Email contact@teknikbarkod.co.uk with your order number and reason for return

We'll confirm the return address and any next steps

Pack the item securely, ideally in its original packaging, and send it back to us

Once we receive it, we'll inspect it and process your refund
Items should be returned unused and in a resalable condition wherever possible. We may make a deduction from your refund if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of handling beyond what's needed to check the item.
Refunds
Once we've received your returned item (or evidence that you've sent it back), we'll process your refund within 14 days. This will include the price you paid for the goods and the standard delivery charge, refunded to your original payment method. Return postage costs are not refunded unless the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If an item arrives faulty, damaged or different from what you ordered, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply in addition to the cancellation right above:

Within 30 days of receiving the item, you can ask for a full refund or replacement

After 30 days (and up to 6 months), we'll usually offer a repair or replacement first

If a repair or replacement isn't possible or doesn't fix the problem, you may be entitled to a partial refund or to reject the item for a full refund
To report a fault or damage, email contact@teknikbarkod.co.uk with your order number and photos of the issue where possible, and we'll sort it out as quickly as we can — including covering the cost of return postage.
Business and trade customers
If you're ordering as a business, the statutory cancellation rights above (under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) don't apply, as these are designed to protect individual consumers. Returns for trade orders are handled on a case-by-case basis — please contact us to discuss.
