Armor Inkanto wax-resin thermal transfer ribbons
Wax-resin ribbons sit between wax and resin. They give printed text and barcodes more resistance to smudging and scratching than wax, and they print on both coated paper and synthetic labels. Choose wax-resin when labels are handled, stacked or moved through a warehouse, or when a wax print rubs off too easily.
We stock three Armor Inkanto wax-resin grades, APR1, APR6 and APR600, in widths from 60mm to 110mm. Every ribbon is available ink side out (CSO) or ink side in (CSI).
For plain paper labels, wax ribbons cost less. For labels that face chemicals, solvents, heat or heavy abrasion, choose resin ribbons.
FAQs
What is a wax-resin ribbon? A ribbon whose ink blends wax and resin. It is sometimes called a resin-enhanced wax ribbon. The resin adds durability; the wax keeps it printing well on coated paper.
Which labels can I print with wax-resin? Coated paper and many synthetic labels, where you need a print that resists smudging and scratching.
Is wax-resin the same as resin? No. Resin ribbons give the highest resistance to chemicals, solvents and heat and are made for synthetic labels. Wax-resin is the middle option.
Do I need ink side in (CSI) or ink side out (CSO)? It depends on your printer. Each printer is built for one winding. If you are not sure, email us your printer model.
